The donation tracking is easy and quick to use. The information is entered into an Excel spreadsheet. The entries record the date, the amount of the donation, source, and description (donation, pledge, donations of tangible objects, etc.). The tracker can list whether a receipt was given, or when a pledge was fulfilled.
There are many ways to keep track of numbers, but if the information is kept in one file and backed up with a copy possibly given to another person in the group each time the data is updated, then there will be no confusion about when donations were made and if promised pledges had been fulfilled.
The handwritten records often get misplaced. Thus, the computer record becomes a valuable resource for recognizing the generosity of those wishing to help others.
